Luca International School Malaysia | Cambridge IGCSE School & 21st Century Life Education

Meet & Greet

Guided by Truth, Grounded in Faith, Strengthened by Experience

Founded in 2018 by Golden Lampstand Baptist Church, LUCA was created in response to the needs of our own families and the broader community. We envisioned an education system that blends strong biblical truth and values with future-ready international education.

We believe great schools begin with great educators. That’s why LUCA brings together a team of passionate, purpose-driven teachers, handpicked for their excellence in teaching and their wholehearted commitment to developing children in both intellect and spirit.

21st-Century Skills, Guided by Truth Principles

At LUCA, we don’t just give children knowledge—we teach them how to apply it. Using the integration of globally respected curricula and advanced pedagogies, students engage in rich, hands-on project-based learning that develops: • Critical thinking & problem-solving • Adaptability & creativity • Digital literacy & collaboration • Communication & leadership

Life Coaching & Real-World Inspiration At LUCA, learning goes beyond textbooks. We provide life coaching sessions designed to help students understand themselves, set meaningful goals, and navigate personal and academic challenges with confidence. In addition, we regularly invite professionals from diverse fields, entrepreneurs, artists, scientists, educators, and more to speak with our students. These real-life voices give our learners a broader worldview, ignite aspirations, and equip them with insights and inspiration to grow, lead, and excel among their peers.

Global Mindset, Local Roots Although LUCA is run by our church, it offers a globally relevant curriculum. Students have opportunities to learn from foreign educators and participate in cultural exchanges. We ensure our students are not just academically prepared, but also socially aware and globally competent.

We believe that our intentionally small class sizes are a source of strength. They allow us to focus on what truly matters: personalised guidance, meaningful teacher-student relationships, and space for every child to grow at their own pace. In this environment, no child is overlooked. Each one is empowered.

Education with a Heart – Affordable, Accessible, Impactful We recognize the diverse financial backgrounds of families in our community. That’s why we’ve committed to providing international education at a reasonable, community-friendly fee, without compromising on quality or values.

LUCA isn’t just a school. It’s a growing movement of parents, teachers, and children learning together in love and light.

A School That Grows Together As a school still in its early journey, we are continually learning, improving, and growing alongside our students, families, and team. While we strive for excellence, we acknowledge that some areas may still be developing. We sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and support as we work diligently to improve. Your feedback and partnership are invaluable to us as we build a school of lasting impact together.

We welcome you to join us

in this journey

to raise a new generation of learners who are wise, courageous, and full of grace.

With blessings,
Joshua Tham, Chairman

Our Story

In 2013, Malaysia set its sights on the promise of 21st-century education. It was a bold vision. Yet for many educators, the road proved far from smooth. Efforts to embrace this new approach were often met with isolation, inadequate support, and the quiet weight of feeling unseen. We refused to accept that this would be the end of the story.

We made a deliberate choice: if the true essence of learning was fading, we would reignite it ourselves. We looked beyond our shores, listening, learning, and drawing wisdom from institutions around the world. Through deep dialogue and reflection, we uncovered timeless truths about what education is meant to be. In the midst of our search, one conviction stood out clearly: education is life impacting life. Education is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but the transformation of hearts, the shaping of character, and the awakening of lifelong purpose.

Our journey to redefine education was not straightforward. It felt like navigating through dense fog. We stumbled. We faced doubts. We endured setbacks. Yet we persevered. Step by step, clarity emerged. What once seemed distant began to feel attainable. We refined our systems, aligned our plans with our vision, and realised that what we hoped for was not only possible, but within reach.

Along the way, we found our compass: The LUCA Identity.

Love the Truth: Grounded in honesty, moral courage, and authenticity.

Uniqueness: Recognising and nurturing every individual’s distinct strengths and purpose.

Core Competencies: Pursuing mastery, critical thinking and meaningful application in all endeavours.

Adaptability: Growing as tough-minded optimists, resilient and forward-looking in every challenge.

These beliefs are not words on paper. They are the heartbeat that drives us forward. With one heart and one mind, we labour on this soil, sowing seeds of truth, hope, and transformation. In time, these seeds will take root, bear fruit, and stand in full bloom, life impacting life for generations to come.

Our Testimonial

Deep down in their hearts, the teachers love the kids they are guiding. To me, my kids can feel the ****** warmth of her teacher. My kids feel ******, being trusted, her view is wide open towards this world. To learning, mood and atmosphere is very important, which is built up by the teachers and parents. I would like to thanks LUCA Academy to help my son, Chai Jia Le to build his confidence and responsibility. He is more independent and cheerful, and he is willing to help to do housework. Now, every morning he wake up by his own, eat breakfast and wait for transport without accompany, he also washes his clothing by himself. But still got lots to learn and I hope he will gain more knowledge from LUCA.

Jayden Tan Patricia Ng

We are glad to see that she has been more confidence in speaking English. When we asked about LUCA Academy, her feedback is positive. She told us that she does the school and likes to become LUCARIAN. We hope that she can keep learning without fears. When facing the challenging, she will be easy to give up.

Reginna Ling Sim Chze Yin

She likes going to Luca for classes, she gets along well with her classmates. When she first entered Luca, her English was not very good, and she could not understand what the teacher taught her, but she worked hard to learn and now she has gradually adapted to understand. Now, we don’t have to worry about her homework anymore, we feel very relieved & happy, she will learn to do homework automatically. Thanks, the teacher for teaching her.

Chong Zhi Yu Jen Leow

99% of students say that they are bored at school. But I see the LUCA differences among the schools. LUCA can provide both enjoyable and educational for students. We transferred Joshua to LUCA was the right choice. Because we see that he is becoming interested in learning! Joshua will tell us that the teachers use creative teaching methods to provide students with interactive learning opportunities. He loved the nutritious brunch provided by the school. We like LUCA to use God’s words to teach children’s character. This is reassuring for Christian parents.
