Angel Foo
Ms. Angel Foo, a Malaysian national, has been appointed as the Vice Principal of LUCA
Academy. She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK
and earned a Diploma in Computer Science from the Informatics Institute in Malaysia in 2000.
In the early stages of her career, Ms. Foo served as Operational Manager at JB-City Alloy Industries
Sdn. Bhd. for eight years. During her tenure, she also took on the role of Quality Management
Representative (QMR), assisting the company in achieving ISO 9000 certification from SIRIM.
In 2008, she embarked on her entrepreneurial journey by founding two tuition centres: Pusat Tuiysen
Uni and Pusat Jagaan Bukit Indah, under the franchise of UER Educare Centre. She has been the
Principal of these centres since their inception, overseeing the design of course frameworks,
progress assessments, result evaluations, financial planning, human resource management, and ongoing
training projects.
Ms. Foo firmly believes that education is the cornerstone of success for young students. Her
extensive teaching experience has led her to understand the critical importance of evolving from an
educator to a lifelong learner. She posits that education transcends the mere dissemination of
knowledge; it is about equipping students with effective social and communication skills and
fostering a mindset that encourages the exploration of new ideas, thereby enriching their future
experiences.
Esther Yong
Ms. Esther Yong, a Malaysian national, was appointed as Acting Principal on 1st March 2017. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Kansas, United States, which she obtained in 1996.
Ms. Yong began her career at Ernst and Young and KPMG in Singapore, where she worked from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, she co-founded UER Educare Sdn Bhd, a learning centre in Johor Bahru that provides both before- and after-school services. Her career has endowed her with extensive experience in auditing, management accounting, and business management.
In pursuit of her passion, Ms. Yong shifted her focus to fundamental investment analysis, taking online classes to deepen her understanding. She has discovered that academic qualifications alone do not make one a successful investor. Instead, she advocates for following the philosophies and strategies of investment giants and taking the time to understand their analytical processes. This approach has significantly strengthened her investment knowledge and improved her returns.
Eager to share her insights and experiences, Ms. Yong is dedicated to nurturing the next generation. She is open-minded and excels at building supportive relationships with her students and their families. With a love for exploring life's values, she firmly believes in the adage, "Price is what you pay, and value is what you get."
